About Ruffled Rooster Farm
Ruffled Rooster Farm began in early 2024, but the story behind it started long before that.
The farm was founded by Joseph and Daniel, two people who met in 2023 and quickly became best friends—more like brothers—bonded by a shared passion for poultry. Both of us grew up around chickens, learning early on the responsibility, patience, and care that comes with raising animals the right way. What started as conversations about birds and breeding soon turned into a shared vision.
From the beginning, Ruffled Rooster Farm has been a true partnership. Farm chores, daily care, and decision-making are shared evenly. Joseph brings a strong trades background to the operation, designing and building pens, brooders, and infrastructure from the ground up using carefully planned layouts and blueprints. Daniel brings the same level of dedication to animal care, observation, and the day-to-day details that keep the farm running smoothly.
Neither of us came into this expecting perfection. There have been long nights, hard lessons, mistakes, and rebuilds—but each challenge has only strengthened our commitment to doing things better the next time. We believe that learning is part of responsible animal husbandry, and growth comes from experience, patience, and humility.
What makes Ruffled Rooster Farm different is simple: heart. We operate on a small scale by design, allowing us to focus on quality over quantity. Every bird matters. Every breeding decision is intentional. Our goal is not mass production, but healthy, well-raised birds that reflect the care and respect we put into our work.
As our farm grew, so did our goals. Our NPIP journey began when we decided to expand responsibly and make it possible to share our birds and hatching eggs with others across the country. Certification wasn’t just a requirement—it was a commitment to biosecurity, transparency, and higher standards.
Looking ahead, our vision is to continue expanding breed variety without losing the small-scale heart that started it all. Growth matters, but never at the expense of quality, ethics, or animal welfare.
Ruffled Rooster Farm isn’t just a farm—it’s a shared passion, built through friendship, hard work, and a deep respect for the birds we raise.
