All orders placed through Ruffled Rooster Farm are subject to the following terms and policies. By placing an order, you acknowledge and agree to these terms as a condition of purchase.
Please review these policies carefully before placing an order. If you have any questions or concerns, we encourage you to contact us prior to checkout. If you are unwilling to abide by these policies, please do not place an order.
ORDERING
All orders must be placed through our website unless otherwise discussed directly with us. If you have questions prior to ordering, please contact us before completing checkout.
Because we are a working farm, response times may vary. We appreciate your patience and understanding.
MINIMUM ORDERS
Minimum order requirements vary by product and are listed on individual product pages.
Orders placed below the stated minimum will not qualify for live arrival or DOA coverage.
NPIP COMPLIANCE
Ruffled Rooster Farm is NPIP certified.
Our NPIP number will be included with your shipment as required for interstate poultry and hatching egg sales.
SHIPPING METHODS
We ship live poultry and hatching eggs via USPS Priority or Priority Express, depending on the product and current conditions.
Shipping costs are flat-rate and cover:
•USPS postage
•Packaging materials
•GroGel / feed (when applicable)
•Heat or cold packs when necessary
•Labor and preparation
Shipping dates are selected at checkout or coordinated with the customer. Estimated delivery times are not guaranteed by USPS.
LIVE ARRIVAL / DOA POLICY (72-HOUR GUARANTEE)
We offer a 72-Hour Live Arrival Guarantee on eligible live poultry orders unless otherwise stated.
To qualify:
•You must pick up your shipment the same day it arrives at your post office
•You must notify us of any losses within 72 hours of delivery
•Clear photos of deceased birds must be provided via email
Coverage:
•Refunds are issued for the value of the bird only
•Shipping costs are non-refundable
•We do not send replacement birds
Failure to pick up birds promptly voids the live arrival guarantee.
HATCHING EGGS - IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Hatching eggs are not chicks, and hatch rates depend on many factors outside of our control.
We do not guarantee fertility or hatch rate.
By purchasing hatching eggs, you acknowledge:
•Hatch rates may range from 0–100%
•Shipping, incubation, and handling affect results
•Cosmetic or genetic imperfections may occur
No refunds will be given for hatch results.
CANCELLATIONS & REFUNDS
Live Poultry:
•Cancellations must be requested before shipment
•Refunds apply to bird cost only
•Shipping fees are non-refundable
Hatching Eggs:
•Cancellations must be requested before shipment
•Once eggs ship, no refunds are available
Store credit may be offered at our discretion.
NO FARM VISTS
We truly enjoy connecting with fellow poultry enthusiasts, however, biosecurity is taken very seriously at Ruffled Rooster Farm. Farm visits, tours, and on-site pickups increase the risk of introducing disease to our birds through footwear, clothing, or equipment.
For the health and safety of our flock, we do not allow farm visits or on-farm order pickup. This policy helps us maintain a clean, controlled environment and protects both our birds and the poultry community as a whole.
We appreciate your understanding and respect for this decision.
WHAT YOU SHOULD EXPECT
You should expect birds that reflect the fundamental traits and characteristics of their breed, but you should not expect cosmetically perfect or guaranteed show-quality birds.
Poultry breeding — especially rare and heritage breeds — involves natural variation. Just as every child is not destined to become a professional athlete, not every bird will be flawless or destined for the show ring. Only a small percentage of birds will meet every aspect of the breed standard at a show level.
Our goal is to provide healthy, well-started birds that can serve as a strong foundation for a breeding program, given time, proper care, and selective breeding. The rarer the breed, the smaller the genetic pool, and challenges such as lower fertility, slower growth, or minor defects can occur.
We cull for obvious health and structural defects, but we do not guarantee perfection. Any breeding outcomes, future development, or performance beyond arrival are the responsibility of the buyer.
Refunds are not offered beyond the 72-Hour Live Arrival (DOA) Guarantee.

Ruffled Rooster Farm is built on care, patience, and integrity. We put long hours and a lot of heart into our birds, and we ask that customers understand the realities of small-scale poultry farming.
